Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, and presented by our friends at Trueblood Real Estate, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

With the NBA Summer League now over, other stories in Hoosier Nation move to the forefront. First and foremost, recruiting continues with the team still very much in the offseason.

Also, Inside the Hall started a series previewing each non-conference opponent, another current player met with the media, Teri Moren won a Gold Medal with Team USA, and Assembly Call had its weekly show. We will as usual conclude with a look at other IU sports led by a couple of programs revealing their schedule for the upcoming season.

• Updated 2024 recruiting board released• Inside the Hall’s non-conference preview series• Kaleb Banks speaks to the media• Teri Moren wins gold with Team USA• Assembly Call Radio• Hoosier Roundup

Recruiting moves to the lead story this week as the July evaluation continues. Inside the Hall updated its 2024 recruiting board to reflect this. On it, 13 prospects remain that the Hoosiers are pursuing, and all of them rank in the top 60.

Also, turning to this year’s incoming class, the final piece of the puzzle is now in Bloomington. This is because Anthony Walker is finally on the IU campus after arriving later than the other players.

With the non-conference schedule already released, Inside the Hall began a series looking at the match-up with each opponent. The first several of these were done in the last week and are written in the order the Hoosiers face them.

Starting with Florida Gulf Coast for the season opener, Inside the Hall previewed some of the early season opposition. This was followed by Army, Wright State, Connecticut, and Louisville

IU continues to make a player available to the press each week; this one was no exception. This time Kaleb Banks met with the media and discussed his offseason growth, team leadership, his role next season, and several other topics.

IU Women’s Coach Teri Moren helped Team USA to a gold medal at the FIBA U19 World Championships. Team USA claimed the top spot with a 69-66 victory over Spain. The squad won a medal with her on the staff for the second time.

Assembly Call was on-air this week. Thursday Night AC Radio discussed players’ strengths and weaknesses with Brian Tonsoni and a special guest in coach Bob Moats.

• Men’s Golf announced its 2023-2024 schedule, which will feature four competitions in Indiana including one meet in Bloomington next spring.

• Cross Country also released its schedule for the fall.

• Volleyball was picked to finish eighth in the conference at Big Ten Media Day.

• Indiana Baseball Director of Development Scott Rolen was officially inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

• Two IU wrestlers are competing in the Poland Open.

• Two field hockey players are part of their countries‘ National Teams.

• A current IU swimmer won the world title in the 800-meter freestyle.

Thanks for your continued support for The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall. We’ll be back next weekend with a new roundup.

Now go enjoy yourself a 6-banner Sunday.
